Balasubramanian Ganesh is the Global Head Design and ADM with HSBC. As part of this role he leads the global software delivery capability and the global agile and dev ops transformation programme at HSBC. Prior to HSBC, he served as the Chief Executive of Products & Solutions Business at Wipro Ltd and prior to that as the Chief Technology Officer at Lloyds Banking Group.
With 30+ years of global industry experience Ganesh has played diverse roles ranging from driving large integration programs to setting up the foundation of global delivery models and IT strategy at global financial institutions. At Lloyds Banking Group, Ganesh transformed application delivery, built a global delivery team and completed the largest banking integration ever. He led the UK’s largest banking divestment and, as CTO, set and governed the technology strategy through delivery. Before joining Lloyds, Ganesh was IT Director and CTO at Aviva, and held senior IT roles at National Australia Bank (Europe), KPMG and the Tata Group. At KPMG Ganesh was the banking principal and advised many banks on their business and IT strategy. His decade long stint at NAB was significant in terms of leading the implementation of enterprise technology solutions to support its acquisitions in UK and Ireland. As a young professional at Tata Group he led product development in the areas of forex systems and specialized in working with banking clients across the globe.
He was awarded the UK 2013 Financial Services Technology award for outstanding individual achievement in recognition of his contribution to Lloyds Banking Group, to UK Financial Services, and to the IT industry. Ganesh has done his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial engineering and an MBA. He has attended Senior Executive Programmes at London Business School, INSEAD and Chicago School of Business.
